Assess the space first
Reduce speed, signal and check vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians around the car. The space must provide enough room to enter and leave safely.
Starting position
Position the car parallel to the vehicle in front of the space. The exact reference points depend on the dimensions of the training car and your seat position.
Entering the space
Reverse very slowly while using mirrors and direct observation. Turn towards the space, straighten at the right angle and then turn the opposite way to bring in the front.
Correction is part of control
Stop and reassess when the position is not right. A safe correction demonstrates control. Continue checking the kerb, both vehicles and the room needed to leave later.
