What to bring to your first driving lesson

A short preparation checklist helps you focus on learning instead of discomfort and last minute pressure.

Confirm the details

Check the agreed time, meeting place and required document. Save the school telephone number and report any possible delay as early as you can.

Choose suitable shoes

Flat shoes with a flexible sole make pedal pressure easier to feel. Avoid loose footwear or shapes that restrict ankle movement.

Rest and eat normally

Lack of sleep reduces reaction speed and the ability to combine information. Eat a light meal, drink water and avoid an unusual amount of caffeine.

Treat errors as information

The first drive introduces the car and basic coordination. Ask questions when an instruction is unclear and use every safe mistake to understand what should happen next.

Make a short note afterwards

Record what felt easy, what needs repetition and which explanation helped. This gives the next lesson a useful starting point.
